The Super Bowl is always one of the most watched programs on television worldwide. This year, millions of people watched the Super Bowl XLVI, at the parties and at the Lucas Oil stadium at Indianapolis.
“I was at a party at my friend’s house and it was so fun except the halftime show seemed a little strange,” explains Aislinn Matagulay (6). The halftime show this year featured Madonna and it was not a big hit to the viewers. She also mashed in one of her songs with LMFAO’s music.
Kylie Monchamp (9) decides, “The mash up of the two famous singers’ songs was actually not that bad considering they are the complete opposite.”
“Also, during the performance, M.I.A. decides to stick up her middle finger and flip off everyone that was watching. Nobody knows if it was on purpose or an accident,” Joe Richmond (10) adds. This rude gesture is all over the Internet and mostly everyone knows about it. The NFL apologizes over and over for the action caught on camera.
Nicki Minaj and Cee Lo also joined M.I.A. and Madonna in their appearance. Alex Davis (9) explains, “I thought it was a really cool performance with all the cool costumes and all of the awesome singers. I do not know why everybody is bashing on it.”
There are also the famous Superbowl commercials that are always about Doritos, Pepsi, etc. It costs about $3.5 million to place an ad for the big game. It seems that the broadcasts are running out of creativeness and advertises the same things every year. “They were kind of old too because they posted them on YouTube and Twitter before the game so everybody has already seen them. It pretty much ruins the surprise,” Mason Bell (9) describes.
Elliot Akman (11) mentioned, “The commercials are funny but they get old after a while.”
The top three noticed commercials were the H&M, Chrysler, and NBC’s “The Voice”. Alex Golden (8) states, “My favorite commercial was the dog one where he buried all of his owner’s stuff and bribed the guy with Doritos. I could not stop laughing!”
“My favorite part of the Superbowl was the commercials. It was the only part I watched and my favorite one was the Sketchers one with the little dog,” Ally Campbell (9) says with a smile.
“Every year, the ads just get weirder and weirder it seems like. They crack me up though which is a good thing,” Austin Peck (9) mentioned.
Even though the halftime was not the best according to most people, the game itself was exciting and unpredictable. Super Bowl commercials are a big hit to the 111 million people who watched the big game Sunday night.
